ALAN COOPER AND ROBERT JOHN LEPPER
We were saddened to hear of the
passing in 2019 of two of our original
founders, Rob Lepper and Alan Cooper.
Alan was a champion fund raiser and
with his leadership in 2000, the year
Convoy was founded, 600,000 Baht was
raised with which we were able to buy a
bus for The Foundation. It is still in
good condition today and is very useful
for taking the kids on outings.
Rob also was an active fund raiser and
he established the Convoy for Kids
Charity Golf Day in 2002. The golf day
is one of the most popular events of the
Thailand golf calendar and has raised
over 14 million Baht in profit over the
years which has been given to The
Foundation to pay for various projects
and maintenance costs.
Rob was hoping to travel from Australia
to Thailand to take part in this year’s
Golf Event in May, but sadly his health
problem prevented him from coming.
They were both two great mates and
although they both returned to Australia
a few years back, we were able to keep
in touch from time to time.
Our condolences go to their loved ones.
It was our great honour to have known
them and they will both be fondly
remembered by us.

OUR NEXT EVENTS
Due to the Coronavirus epidemic, both The
Kid’s Day Out and The Golf Day had to be
postponed.
Thailand has been more fortunate than most
countries in terms of Covid 19 cases and
mortalities, but we decided to be cautious
rather than take unnecessary risks and
postpone both events.
We hope to be able to host both events this
year provided there is no second wave of
the virus.
Final arrangements for both the Kid’s Day
and Golf Day will be posted here
The Kids Day will be to Safari World which is
a popular venue with the Kids.
The golf day will be held at The Royal
Lakeside Golf Club which is easily accessible
from Bangkok and the Eastern Seaboard
area. The expected date will be either in
October or November.
We hope that the business communities,
and friends will step up as they have in past
years, and help support both events.
Final details will be posted on this site.
OUR PLAN TO REGISTER AS AN
AUTHORISED CHARITY.
We have taken the first steps towards
registering as an approved charity. Being
registered will help us with issues such as
issuing
receipts to sponsors and avoiding any tax
issues.
We hope everything will be resolved with
the next 2 - 3 months.
Check back from tme to time to see our
progress.
Thanks go to Khun Pattama for spending
time on checking out the regulations and
giving guidance on the matter.
